SICSA 'Elevator Pitch' Video Competition
In Academia we often find ourselves stuck in our own silos, working and speaking with those who are interested in the same work we are. However, being able to communicate our research to new, and varied, audiences is an invaluable skill that can be used in academia and beyond.
You will need to create a 25 second video to camera, without any editing, outlining:
- Who is your research is important to?
- What difference the research will make in the world?
- What you are doing to meet that research goal?
So the objective is to give us an elevator pitch of the big picture view of your research.
Hint: We are looking for a clear, to the point presentation. Write a script of what you want to say, make as many versions as you like until you’re happy, and try not to rush what you’re trying to say.
We will also require a transcript of what you are talking about in your video.
- First Prize – £50
- Second Prize – £30
- Runner-up – £20
Submissions are now closed.
The video submissions will be put forward to a public vote at the conference.
